For the first aim - genotypic variation, we characterise genetic diversity and the environmental features associated to connectivity for a narrowly distributed and threatened Amazonian frog, Atelopus manauensis. Specifically, we (1) characterize genetic variation and identify genetically distinct parts of the distribution of A. manauensis; (2) search for evidence of localised adaptation; and (3) identify which landscape features influence functional and genetic connectivity. This study provides relevant information for effective conservation actions aiming at the protection of the studied species. Also, the present study uses a approach that migth guide future studies aiming at providing valuable information for species conservation in Tropical regions, where areas for conservation purposes are becaming scarce.
