WATER TEMPERATURE and other data from USS THOMAS S. GATES in the Mediterranean Sea from 1994-07-07 to 1994-08-01 (NCEI Accession 9400126)

The data in this accession were collected in Mediterranean Sea from USS THOMAS S. GATES between July 7, 1994 and August 1, 1994. The real time data of water temperature at varying depth bathythermograph (XBT) was recorded in stripcharts by the US Navy. Radio logs are forms that contain time, weather latitude/longitude, vessel id, ship id, etc. These are radioed every two hours to some military center. One line per strip chart. Some strip charts have time /date /ship id /latitude /longitude annotated on the strip chart. Forty six stripcharts and radio logs were submitted to NODC.

本次入藏数据集采集于地中海海域，搭载平台为美国海军托马斯·S·盖茨号（USS THOMAS S. GATES），采集时段为1994年7月7日至1994年8月1日。变深探温仪（XBT）采集的不同深度海水温度实时数据，由美国海军以带状记录图形式进行记录。无线电日志为包含时间、气象信息、纬度/经度、船舶编号、舰船标识等内容的表单，此类日志每两小时通过无线电传输至指定军事指挥中心，每份带状记录图对应一行日志条目。部分带状记录图会在图上标注时间、日期、舰船标识、纬度及经度信息。本次共提交46份带状记录图及无线电日志至国家海洋数据中心（National Oceanographic Data Center，NODC）。
