The Green Army will work cooperatively with Queensland Trust for Nature volunteers, staff, University of Queensland Koala Ecology Group and the community to restore and monitor koala and brush-tailed rock-wallaby habitat on private land in Ipswich and Scenic Rim Local Governments areas. There are three main objectives of the project:1. To restore core habitat through removing weeds and planting trees to improve access to food trees and allow for increased fauna movement across the landscape. 2. To conduct a wildlife and pest survey, assessment and management project to reduce the threat of dogs, foxes and cats. 3. To raise awareness within the community about the threats and habitat needs of koalas, brush-tailed rock-wallabies through two community field events.
