Barkley Upper Slope Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 75 kHz Deployed 2019-08-26

The RDI Workhorse Long Ranger ADCP 75 kHz (17431) was deployed on 2019-08-26 at Barkley Upper Slope. Upper Slope is a location within Barkley Canyon, which is located on the upper continental slope. This device is a Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 75 kHz. Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) are hydroacoustic instruments, similar to sonars. ADCPs measure current speed and direction at multiple predetermined depths simultaneously. ADCPs use the Doppler effect of sound waves that are scattered by particles in seawater over a depth range. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.

RDI Workhorse Long Ranger型75kHz声学多普勒流速剖面仪（编号17431）于2019年8月26日部署于巴克利上斜坡。巴克利上斜坡是位于上大陆坡的巴克利峡谷内的一处区域。该设备为75kHz声学多普勒流速剖面仪（Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler，ADCP）。声学多普勒流速剖面仪是一类类似声呐的水声探测仪器，可同时测定多个预设深度处的水流流速与流向。ADCP借助声波的多普勒效应，通过海水内悬浮颗粒物散射的声波，获取指定深度范围内的流场数据。本次部署采用固定式平台搭载该设备。本次采集的数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 3.0数字基础设施对外共享，所有数据均遵循既定行业规范开展质量管控，衍生数据产品亦按相关规范产出。
