This dataset contains global climate model outputs generated using the CanESM5.1 Earth system model to investigate the hydrological and biogeophysical impacts of reforestation under different land-cover scenarios. The dataset spans a historical simulation period (1850–2014) and future projections (2015–2200) under the SSP1-2.6 emissions scenario. This enables long-term analysis of land-use-driven changes in climate and hydrology. The simulations were designed to isolate the effects of land-cover change by holding atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations constant across scenarios, ensuring that differences in climate variables arise from biogeophysical processes rather than radiative forcing. The dataset includes four main components corresponding to different simulation scenarios: a historical baseline, a future baseline scenario with constant land cover, a sustainable reforestation scenario, and a reversed reforestation scenario. Each scenario is represented by five ensemble members, generated through perturbations in ocean initial conditions to capture internal climate variability . We provide the data in NetCDF format and include key hydrological and energy balance variables such as near-surface air temperature, precipitation, evapotranspiration, soil moisture, runoff, cloud fraction, and radiative fluxes.
