These films were produced for Electricity Commission of New South Wales - Employee Relations Group. The Employee Relations Group was established in July 1988 when the Personnel Branch, the Payroll Administration Branch (previously part of the Financial Division) and the Industrial Relations Branch were merged. The group is responsible for all areas of personnel management within the Commission, including staff training and development.The films were produced for use in both staff training and current awareness programs throughout the Commission. The films, which cover a variety of topics, appear to have been used for courses at Head Office, regional offices and the power stations.The topics covered include: understanding the communication process; business letter writing; supervision and instructing the worker 'on-the-job'; decision making; metrification; 'workstudy' case studies; an overview of the Commission's operations; and safety in the workplace.
