We reported the first definitive characterization of the role of IL-32 in the trained phenotype, the results of which improve our understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing trained immunity and Leishmania infection control. Overall design: Examination of the influence of IL32 rs4786370 SNP in the gene expression in bone marrow granulocyte macrophage progenitors (GMP) of healthy volunteers prior and on day 0 and day 90 (M3) post BCG vaccination. GMPs were identified as Lin-CD34+CD38+CD45RA+CD10- events and purified using FACS.
