Compensatory mutations are known to enable the persistence of costly plasmids in laboratory bacterial populations but their importance in natural communities is unknown. Using plant rhizosphere bacterial communities we show that compensatory mutations occur in Pseudomonas fluorescens populations carrying the plasmid pQBR103.
补偿突变(compensatory mutations)已知可使携带适应性代价质粒的细菌种群在实验室培养体系中得以存续,但其在自然群落中的重要性仍未明确。本研究针对植物根际细菌群落展开分析,证实携带质粒pQBR103的荧光假单胞菌(Pseudomonas fluorescens)种群中存在补偿突变。
