该研究是一个由17 个国家参与的国际性项目,在不同国家和地区城乡人群中研究有关心脑血管病、肥胖、糖尿病的社会和环境危险因素。计划用至少18 年的时间,对全球150000 名调查者进行研究。该研究结果将填补对影响心脑血管病的环境潜在因素认知的空白,为制订以社区为基础的心血管疾病预防策略提供强有力的参考。我国该部分研究从实施到基线调查的完成共用了5年时间,最早期的基线生物样本比如血浆、血清、血液单核细胞等生物标本储存在液氮中,在以后3-6年的随访中观察到的心脑血管病时间与基线血液等的生化指标联系起来,并在柳叶刀、新英格兰杂志上发表了一系列文章。我们在遗传资源库中的标本之所以在储存了近10年后还能够使用,是因为采用了液氮的储存方式,从理论上,液氮的储存方式可以无限期的保藏和使用。

This study is an international collaborative project involving 17 countries, which investigates social and environmental risk factors associated with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, obesity and diabetes among urban and rural populations across different countries and regions. It is scheduled to enroll 150,000 global participants and conduct long-term follow-up for at least 18 years. The study findings will fill the gap in understanding potential environmental contributors to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and provide robust evidence for developing community-based cardiovascular disease prevention strategies. The domestic segment of this study took 5 years from initiation to the completion of the baseline survey. The earliest baseline biological specimens, including plasma, serum, peripheral blood mononuclear cells and other samples, were cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen. Subsequent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease events observed during the 3- to 6-year follow-up period were correlated with baseline blood biochemical indicators and related markers, and a series of papers have been published in *The Lancet* and *The New England Journal of Medicine*. The specimens stored in our genetic resource bank remained usable after nearly 10 years of storage thanks to the liquid nitrogen preservation method. Theoretically, liquid nitrogen storage enables indefinite preservation and utilization of biological samples.
