This dataset, named REC-COCO, is derived from MS-COCO and V-COCO. It contains explicit correspondences between image entities (with their bounding boxes) and corresponding mentions in image captions. This dataset enables direct evaluation of spatial relation reasoning from image captions, leveraging richer relational information in captions compared to manually annotated relations. Its designated task is to infer spatial relations from image captions.
