We isolated and compared transcriptomes of GC and M from C3 T. hassleriana and C4 G. gynandra. This was achieved using laser-capture microdissection of each cell type from fixed paradermal sections. At least 2,500 cells were isolated for each replicate. RNA was extracted, amplified and subjected to RNAseq.

本研究从C3植物醉蝶花（T. hassleriana）与C4植物G. gynandra中分离并比较了GC与M的转录组（transcriptome）。该实验通过对固定后的平周切片中的各细胞类型进行激光捕获显微切割（laser-capture microdissection）得以实现。每个生物学重复至少分离得到2500个细胞。随后对总RNA进行提取、扩增，并开展RNA测序（RNA-seq）。
