Viral metagenomics of Culicides spp. from Turkiye

Arboviruses in significant capacity have existed in the Southern Aegean region of Turkey (Aydin, Mugla, Denizli, Izmir), which pose a risk to both animal and human health. The updated knowledge is not available about the status of these viruses due to the lack of a control program for Turkiye. In this study, genomes of viruses were investigated by next-generation sequencing and viral metagenomic with the thought that non-identified arboviruses might have already been circulating. This study would be beneficial and provide an integrative evaluation of public health for Turkiye.

高载量虫媒病毒（Arbovirus）已在土耳其南爱琴海地区（艾登、穆拉、代尼兹利、伊兹密尔）广泛存在，此类病毒对动物与人类健康均构成威胁。由于土耳其尚未针对此类病毒制定防控方案，目前尚无关于其流行现状的最新研究数据。本研究采用下一代测序（next-generation sequencing）与病毒宏基因组学（viral metagenomics）技术对病毒基因组进行分析，基于未被鉴定的虫媒病毒或已在该区域循环传播的假设开展研究。本研究具备重要公共卫生价值，可为土耳其的公共卫生防控提供系统性评估依据。
