[IO Islamic 942] قصّۀ امير حمزه

The incomplete romance, contained in this most incorrect copy, and styled on fol. 1a, both (!) قصَۀ امير همزه and قصّۀ امير عرب , seems to be an enlarged and greatly modified redaction of the original Ḥamzanâma, resembling that defective copy of the رموز حمزه (or as it is styled with the same mistake in spelling as here: رموز همزه), which is described in Rieu ii. p. 761 (Add. 24, 418). A great number of the first chapters are apparently missing here; the portion preserved in our copy contains thirty short داستان (on ff. 1b, 8b, 12b, 16a, 19b, 29b, 33a, 39b, 42b, 47a, 59b, 62b, 65a, 68a, 69b, 77b, 82b, 91a, 99b, 104a, 108a, 113a, 119a, 130a, 136b, 143a, 145b, 163a, 173a, and 184b), every one of which begins with the phrase (read سر) آمدم بر سرى داستان. Among the prominent characters that appear here are, besides Ḥamzah himself (called امير عرب or عرب (!) همزۀ) and the prophet Muḥammad, شاهزادۀ ایرج, بابا عمر عيار, عاص بن انوس, زمرّدشاه, بديع الزمان , etc.

Beginning of this copy, after the standard phrase which introduces every chapter: امّا للبن آرايان بساطين ( بساتين read) اخبار و نخل پيرايان فرداس ( فردوس read) اشمار گلدستۀ سخن تازه تر ازو نسترين ( از نسرين or از نسترين read) ازين باغ كهن چنين به بزم بيان آورده اند كه بابا عمر عيار بر درى ( در read ) بارگاه زمرّدشاه رسيد الخ.

该手稿为同一作品增订本的残卷。

本抄本谬误颇多，所载为一部未竟传奇故事，在第1a对开页上题有《قصَۀ امير همزه》与《قصّۀ امير عرب》两个名称。其内容实为《哈姆扎纳玛》(Ḥamzanâma)的增订大幅修订本，与《رموز حمزه》（或如本抄本拼写错误所致的异称《رموز همزه》）的残损抄本风格相近，该抄本见于里厄（Rieu）《目录》第二卷第761页（Add. 24, 418）。

本抄本显然缺失大量开篇章节；现存残卷共收录三十篇短篇故事（داستان），分布于第1b、8b、12b、16a、19b、29b、33a、39b、42b、47a、59b、62b、65a、68a、69b、77b、82b、91a、99b、104a、108a、113a、119a、130a、136b、143a、145b、163a、173a及184b对开页，每篇开篇均以（读作“سر”）「آدمدم بر سرى داستان」一语起头。

本抄本登场的重要人物除哈姆扎本人（别称「امير عرب」或「عرب همزۀ」）与先知穆罕默德外，尚有 شاهزادۀ ایرج、بابا عمر عيار、عاص بن انوس、زمرّدشاه、بديع الزمان等。

本抄本开篇（位于各章标准引语之后）为：「امّا للبن آرايان بساطين」（读作「باساتين」）「اخبار و نخل پيرايان فرداس」（读作「فردوس」）「اشمار گلدستۀ سخن تازه تر ازو نسترين」（读作「از نسرين」或「از نسترين」）「ازين باغ كهن چنين به بزم بيان آورده اند كه بابا عمر عيار بر درى」（读作「در」）「بارگاه زمرّدشاه رسيد الخ」。

无成书年代。《رموز حمزه》曾于伊斯兰历1274年在德黑兰（Ṭahrân）以七卷本刊行。
