The data provided belongs to the manuscript: Drivers of flight altitude during nocturnal bird migration over the North Sea and implications for offshore wind energy published in Conservation Science and Practice by Maja Bradarić, Bart Kranstauber, Willem Bouten, Hans van Gasteren and Judy Shamoun-Baranes.
Files named "radar_data" contain information on track altitudes per timestamp and night collected during the spring and autumn migration seasons from 2019-2021 by radars positioned in Luchterduinen and Borssele wind farms off the western Dutch coast. The data provided has been post-processed according to the steps described in detail in the accompanying paper and supplementary information therein.
Raw radar data, processed by the radar software, is collected by Rijkswaterstaat (the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management), and a copy is stored by the University of Amsterdam. For more information about the data, contact the authors.
The files named "model_data" contain information about the hourly fraction of low-altitude migration (lt_ratio) throughout the spring and autumn migration seasons at both radar locations. They also contain hourly values of variables used in the model to explain the main drivers of low-altitude migration.
