Ceramic: Mancos Black-on-white (Puerco style), bowl (fragments), AZRU-00001/982

Mancos Black-on-white (Puerco style), bowl (fragments), Accession AZRU-00001, Catalog #982, Morris FS 4572. Analyzed by Lori Reed 2006. Temper is diorite porphyry indicating manufacture in the central Mesa Verde region. Bowl fragments were previously reconstructed with unknown adhesive and about 10% unknown paster material. Bowl is now fragmentary due to weakening of adhesive. Measurements: 17 cm rim diameter estimate. Image AZRU1-982 A: interior view of rim and lower body fragments showing that design is a banded layout. Rim is undecorated and tapered. Recovered from Earl Morris excavation of Kiva R, Aztec West Ruin. No published description of Kiva R available.
