We used ITS2 metabarcode sequencing to identify how Castanea dentata, Castanea mollissima, their hybrids and Quercus alba affect soil-inhabiting fungal communities. Using samples before and three years after planting, we aimed to understand the shift of the communities after planting. These data will permit an improved understanding of how hybrid crosses may differ in their impacts on soil communities from native and non-native hosts.
