This dataset is stored in Excel format, contains 35 worksheets, and systematically records multiple relevant data on sheep in the Tibet region. It covers the comparison between the number of sheep and other livestock in various regions, demonstrating the absolute dominance of sheep in the livestock breed structure of Tibet. In addition, the dataset provides statistical information on wool and pelts of the Tibet Autonomous Region in 1974, the structure of current sheep breeds, and coat color statistics of sheep flocks across different regions. It also includes data analysis on body measurements, body weight and wool production of adult Yarlung Tsangpo sheep, as well as relevant statistics on physiological indicators and shearing yields of other sheep breeds. This dataset is the digital collation outcome of the data from the first Qinghai-Tibet Scientific Expedition, providing important foundational data for in-depth understanding of the distribution characteristics and ecological adaptation of sheep in Tibet.
