Poly­(2-vinylpyridine) with highly isotactic (Pm = 0.97) and high-molecular-weight (∼105 g/mol) characteristics was obtained for the first time using novel yttrium bis­(phenolate) ether catalysts. These catalysts also showed high activity and tolerance to low loadings. Computational studies and kinetic experiments provided a fundamental understanding of the initiation, propagation, and stereocontrol mechanism governing the polymerization reactions mediated by yttrium catalysts.

首次通过新型双(芳氧基)醚合钇催化剂(yttrium bis(phenolate) ether catalysts),成功制备出等规度(Pm)达0.97、分子量约为10^5 g/mol的聚(2-乙烯基吡啶)(Poly(2-vinylpyridine))。该类催化剂同时展现出高催化活性,且在低负载量条件下仍具备良好耐受性。通过计算研究与动力学实验,研究人员对该钇催化剂介导的聚合反应的引发、链增长及立体调控机理获得了基础性认知。
