These raster datasets were generated and analyzed during the study described by Stahl, Fremier, and Cosens (2020) in Conservation Biology, entitled "Mapping legal authority for terrestrial conservation corridors along streams". Each source of streamside conservation authority in the study area was mapped as a feature class (polygon) and then converted to raster, such that pixel values in each raster correspond to the conservation authority index (CAI) value associated with the respective source of authority. We used these rasters to generate a legal-ecological resistance surface for least-cost corridor computation. A similar approach may be useful in many settings to incorporate legal or other social data sets into habitat assessments for conservation planning. Please refer to the published article for further details.
