Hafnia alvei is a Gram-negative, facultative anaerobic bacterium that is part of the gut microbiota. Resistant to a few antibiotics, the bacterium is increasingly recognized as an opportunistic pathogen, particularly with respect to the immunocompromised. This work sought to shed light on the proteome of H. alvei through parsing the UniProt proteome file of H. alvei FB1 using an in-house MATLAB proteome analysis software. Altogether, protein name, amino acid sequence, number of residues are extracted into a proteome database of the organism. The database is further augmented by the calculation of molecular weight and nucleotide sequence of each protein in the proteome of H. alvei. Overall, the proteome information provided in this database should find use in understanding the molecular effectors that are postulated to participate in the pathogenesis process, as well as guiding molecular cloning and genome editing efforts in understanding the functional roles of particular proteins in the bacterium.
