Integrating sustainability into job shop and flow shop scheduling: analyzing key differences and operational challenges

Scheduling is the critical part of production, typically concerned with the efficient utilization of resources and demand fulfillment. Considering the importance of sustainable manufacturing, the field of production scheduling has been developing new solutions capable of reducing the impacts of a production process on the environment and people. Integrating sustainability dimensions based on a practical decision-making framework is being realized more and more. To strengthen the theoretical grounding of sustainable scheduling studies, this study conducts a structured literature review to obtain an overview of the current state and recent progress of sustainable scheduling. We also aim to gain insights into the research trends and gaps in sustainable production scheduling. Based on the Scopus database, the applied keywords include sustainable manufacturing, production scheduling, and equivalent terms. Only journal papers published after the year 2017 are included. As a result, 27 research papers are analyzed and synthesized according to the mathematical model components. Information about problem context, problem-solving techniques, and the trade-off relationship among the three dimensions of sustainability are discussed. The literature review results provide an understanding of recent production scheduling research that addresses sustainability issues.
调度是生产环节的核心组成部分,通常聚焦于资源的高效利用与需求履约。鉴于可持续制造(sustainable manufacturing)的重要性,生产调度领域正不断开发新型解决方案,以降低生产流程对环境与人类的负面影响。基于实用决策框架整合可持续性维度的理念正获得越来越广泛的认可。为夯实可持续调度(sustainable scheduling)研究的理论基础,本研究开展结构化文献综述,以全面梳理可持续调度的当前研究现状与最新进展;同时旨在探析可持续生产调度领域的研究趋势与空白点。本研究基于斯高帕斯(Scopus)数据库,选取的检索关键词包括可持续制造、生产调度及其等价表述,仅纳入2017年之后发表的期刊论文。最终,本研究依据数学模型组成要素,对27篇学术论文展开分析与综合梳理,并探讨了问题背景、求解方法以及可持续性三大维度间的权衡关系。本次文献综述的研究结果,可为理解当前聚焦可持续性议题的生产调度研究提供参考。
