Data for: Dataset showing the abundance and distribution of benthic foraminifera in relation to marine sediment parameters from western Arabian Gulf

The dataset contains raw and standardized benthic foraminifera counts, measured water and sediment parameters collected through manual sediment sample picking, water quality multiprobe and coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy measurements respectively. Appendix 1-1 documents the location coordinates for the sampled stations. Appendix 1-2 provides spatial representation of diversity indices that were calculated from raw foraminifera counts. Raw data elemental concentration are summarized in Appendix 1-3. The documented raw counts and standardized counts of each species picked are attached in Appendix 1-4 and Appendix 1-5 respectively. Variation in grain sizes among the sample station is presented in in Appendix 1-6. Appendix 1-7 documents water column physicochemical parameters.

本数据集包含原始与标准化底栖有孔虫（benthic foraminifera）计数数据，以及分别通过人工沉积物样品分选、水质多参数检测仪、耦合等离子体光发射光谱仪测量得到的水体与沉积物参数。附录1-1记录了各采样站位的坐标信息。附录1-2展示了基于原始有孔虫计数数据计算得到的多样性指数的空间分布情况。原始元素浓度数据汇总于附录1-3。本次分选得到的各物种的原始计数与标准化计数分别收录于附录1-4与附录1-5。各采样站位的沉积物粒度变化情况展示于附录1-6。附录1-7记录了水柱理化参数。
