Uplift Analysis of Isolated Spread Footings for Overhead Transmission Lines Under Drained Loading: A Parametric and Comparative Study
收藏资源简介:
This thesis presents an economical and sustainable approach for determining the uplift capacity of isolated spread footings for overhead transmission towers under drained loading. Various existing traditional methods are being adopted to design the spread footings under the uplift case, but these methods have inherent limitations without addressing these limitations. Numerical analysis using the Finite Element Method (FEM) has been conducted to perform a parametric study to investigate the influence of various parameters and a comparative study to compare the FE results with the existing traditional methods. This comparison aims to provide recommendations on the suitability of each method based on the soil type and backfill consistency to achieve an optimal solution.
