Fisher Meteorological Station at Harvard Forest since 2001

The Fisher Meteorological Station became operational on 11 Feb 2001. The new Station is located in an open field 200 m north of the Shaler Station, in a site chosen to minimize the angle of surrounding trees above the horizon (currently 15-25 degrees from the station at breast height). The Fisher Station records air temperature, relative humidity, dew point, precipitation (water equivalent of snow), global solar radiation, PAR radiation, net radiation, barometric pressure, scalar wind speed, vector wind speed, peak gust speed (1-second), vector wind direction, standard deviation of wind direction (wind measurements at 10 m height), and soil temperature (10 cm depth). Instruments are scanned once per second, and 15-minute (hourly before 2005) and daily values are calculated and stored by a datalogger. Current and recent data are available online, updated every 15 minutes, with out-of-range values replaced by -99 but values not otherwise checked. Earlier data are checked and posted with missing or estimated values flagged (following methods of the LTER ClimbDB project). A log of events affecting station measurements (e.g., instrument repair and recalibration, ice storms, lightning) and selected monthly and annual values are also posted.

费舍尔气象站（Fisher Meteorological Station）于2001年2月11日正式投入运行。该新站坐落于谢勒气象站（Shaler Station）以北200米的开阔场地，选址初衷为尽可能压低周边树木相对于观测站的地平仰角（当前胸高位置处的仰角为15至25度）。费舍尔气象站的观测要素涵盖：气温、相对湿度、露点温度、降水量（雪的水当量）、总太阳辐射、光合有效辐射（PAR radiation）、净辐射、大气压强、标量风速、矢量风速、1秒阵风峰值风速、矢量风向、风向标准差（风速观测高度为10米）以及10厘米深度的土壤温度。仪器每秒完成一次数据扫描，数据记录仪会计算并存储15分钟（2005年前为逐小时）和逐日的均值数据集。当前及近期数据可通过线上渠道获取，每15分钟更新一次；超出量程的数值会被替换为-99，但未进行额外的有效性校验。早期数据经过有效性校验后发布，其中缺失值与估算值会被标记（遵循LTER ClimbDB项目的处理方法）。此外，影响观测数据的事件日志（如仪器维修与重新校准、冰暴、雷击事件）以及选定的逐月与逐年统计值也会同步发布。
