The aim of the study was to identify the genes regulated by the estrogen receptor alpha (ERa) in a human prostate cancer cell line (VCaP), with and without the co-activation of the oncogene AR (androgen receptor). Overall design: Twelve VCaP cell line samples have been treated with either Ethanol (control), 17β-Estradiol, R1881 (metribolone, a synthetic androgen), or both Estradiol and R1881. Each condition has been done in triplicates and sequenced using Illumina NovaSeq 6000.
