本数据集包含三组10mL规模的结核分枝杆菌（Mycobacterium tuberculosis）培养物，均培养于不含去污剂的索顿培养基（Sautons medium）中，分别设置两种生长条件：其一为浮游态培养（于光密度OD600=0.2的指数生长期取样），其二为菌膜培养（在5%CO₂环境下静置培养3周）。本数据集旨在对比菌膜生长与浮游生长状态下的转录组特征，共设置3次生物学重复，其中第三次生物学重复采用了染料互换（dye-flip）实验设计。
