This dataset is based on laboratory experiments investigating the effects of Nicrophorus vespilloides, a saprophagous burying beetle, on soil communities in temperate broadleaf forests. Using a controlled experimental design, the study analyzes the temporally dynamic regulatory impacts of the beetles on soil microarthropods, microbial biomass, soil pH, and soil organic matter content, aiming to reveal the key driving mechanisms of saprophagous invertebrates in soil nutrient cycling.
