POLLEN ANALYSIS OF BURNED ROCK CLUSTERS ON THE TRW PROJECT, ARIZONA

Eleven pollen samples were selected for analysis from burned rock
clusters/piles at three archaeological sites on the TRW Project near Siphon
Draw in central Arizona. These burned rock clusters/piles might represent
fire-cracked rock removed from roasting pits. The sites also exhibited
scatters of ceramic and lithic artifacts. The focus of research on the TRW
Project was to obtain comparable data to that collected on the Salt-Gila
Aqueduct Project, where roasting pits were also examined.

针对亚利桑那州中部西彭德劳（Siphon Draw）附近TRW项目的三处考古遗址，从其火烧岩石簇/堆中选取了11份孢粉样本开展分析。此类火烧岩石簇/堆或为从焙烧坑中取出的火烧破裂岩石。这些遗址还散布有陶瓷与石器制品遗存。TRW项目的研究核心在于获取与萨尔蒂-吉拉渡槽项目（Salt-Gila Aqueduct Project）所收集数据可比的资料，后者也曾对焙烧坑展开过考察。
