Fe5GeTe2 is one of the van der Waals ferromagnets with the highest Curie temperature. Its doping with S is known to induce magnetic easy-axis/easy-plane and ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic transitions. Here, we propose to use X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) and X-ray magnetic linear dichroism (XMLD) to determine the elemental magnetic moments and clarify the local magnetic order in S-doped Fe5GeTe2 thin films with various compositions.

Fe5GeTe2是居里温度最高的范德瓦尔斯铁磁体之一。已知对其进行硫(S)掺杂可诱导磁易轴/磁易面以及铁磁/反铁磁相变。本研究拟采用X射线磁圆二色性(X-ray magnetic circular dichroism,XMCD)与X射线磁线二色性(X-ray magnetic linear dichroism,XMLD),测定不同组分硫掺杂Fe5GeTe2薄膜的元素磁矩,并阐明其局域磁序。
