The Sheriff of the Supreme Court is responsible for the enforcement and execution of Supreme Court Writs and Orders and the control and direction of civil warrants Bailiffs from the Sheriff's Office executed writs in Melbourne and in the major court districts. In country Victoria, including remote areas the senior police constable was the official bailiff and was charged to execute writs.This series contains a summary of letters addressed to the Sheriff. It includes cancellation of jury panels, inability of subjects to pay off debts and a plan to recoup debt, applications for early release from prison, reports concerning execution of warrants, applications for legal assistance, reports concerning subjects committed for trial and the charge; as well as administrative matters such as requisition of stores, the supply of forms, envelopes and stamps.Inwards letter book dated 2/05/1930 - 3/09/1931 was not included in the transfer in 2004.

落款日期为1930年5月2日至1931年9月3日的收信簿，未被纳入2004年的移交档案中。
