Collection of visual core description (VCD) sheets (hand drawn originals and digital representations) and lithologic composite plots from the above given hole of International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Expedition 386 (Japan Trench Paleoseismology). VCD was performed on unsampled archive halves of split cores, directly after linescan imaging, during the onshore phase of expedition 386, which took place between 2022-02-14 – 2022-03-15 onboard D/V Chikyu. The lithology of each core section is represented on the hand drawn VCDs by graphic patterns next to the X-ray CT image of the archive-half core section. Further, a wide variety of features that characterize the sediment are indicated in additional columns. The information from the hand-drawn VCD sheets was then transferred into the Drilling Information System database (s. also datasets \"Description of lithologic section units of IODP Hole 386-M0083F\"), from where it could be accessed semi-automated to produce digital lithologic columns and composite plots using Strater (Golden Software). 本数据集包含国际大洋发现计划(International Ocean Discovery Program, IODP)386次科考航次(日本海沟古地震学研究)指定钻孔的岩心目视描述表(Visual Core Description, VCD,含手绘原稿与数字复刻件)及岩性综合柱状图。本次航次的陆上作业阶段于2022年2月14日至2022年3月15日在“地球号”(D/V Chikyu)科考船上开展,VCD工作即在该阶段完成:具体为对劈开岩心的未采样保存半段完成线扫描成像后,直接开展岩心目视描述。手绘VCD表中,各岩心段的岩性通过对应保存半段岩心X射线计算机断层成像(X-ray CT)图像旁的图形图案进行表征;此外,额外列项还标注了表征沉积物特征的各类属性与构造。随后,手绘VCD表中的信息被录入钻井信息系统数据库(详见数据集《IODP 386-M0083F钻孔岩性段单元描述》),后续可通过该数据库实现半自动化访问,并借助Golden Software公司的Strater软件生成数字化岩性柱状图与综合柱状图。[…]
