Landscape of adenosine to inosine RNA recoding across human tissues

RNA editing by adenosine deaminases changes the information encoded in the mRNAfrom its genomic blueprint. Editing of protein-coding sequences can introduce novel,functionally distinct, protein isoforms and diversify the proteome. Here we sequenced blood samples of matched RNA and DNA from three healthy human donors. This was used to verify bona fide RNA editing sites.

腺苷脱氨酶（adenosine deaminases）介导的RNA编辑，会改变信使RNA（mRNA）所承载的、源自其基因组蓝图的遗传信息。对蛋白质编码序列的编辑可催生全新且功能独特的蛋白质同工型（protein isoforms），进而丰富蛋白质组（proteome）的多样性。本研究对三名健康人类供体的配对血液RNA与DNA样本开展了测序工作，并以此验证了真实可靠的RNA编辑位点（RNA editing sites）。
