Devon ice cap glacier velocity map

The purpose of this dataset was to determine the flow rates of the Devon Ice Cap, Nunavut, Canada during the International Polar Year (2007-2008) and compare the glacier velocities determined with those of previous studies in order to determine whether glacier velocities had changed significantly from the mid-1990s. This dataset was also combined with measured and modelled ice thicknesses at the termini of outlet glaciers in order to determine how much ice was lost via discharge to the ocean (i.e. iceberg production).

本数据集旨在测定2007-2008年国际极地年（International Polar Year）期间，加拿大努纳武特（Nunavut）地区德文冰盖（Devon Ice Cap）的流动速率，并将本次测定所得的冰川流速与既往研究结果进行比对，以研判自20世纪90年代中期以来冰川流速是否发生了显著变化。本数据集还结合了出口冰川（outlet glaciers）末端的实测与模拟冰厚数据，以计算通过向海洋排放冰川冰（即冰山生成）所损失的冰量。
