We ask for 20 ks of XMM-Newton observation of the High Mass X-ray Binary candidate 1H 1255-567 comma the first pointed observation of this source with a modern imaging X-ray instrument. The aim of the observation is to confirm or refute the X-ray binary nature of the system comma and to test the hypothesis that this source might instead be a gamma Cas analogue.
