Ahriman, Ahura Mazda, and True Time:A Zarvanian Re-reading of Iranian Myth
Abstract This article offers a philosophical and ontological reinterpretation of the concept of prayerwithin ancient Iranian mythology—particularly through the myths of Zarvān, Tishtrya, and Rapithwin. Drawing on the insights of Dr. Zhaleh Amoozegar’s lecture on “The Magical Power of Prayer,” we demonstrate that, within the Zarvanian framework, prayer is not a religious act of supplication, but the primal pulsation of True Time and the fundamental mechanism of cosmogenesis. Zarvān, as pure time itself, initiates creation through a thousand-year prayer—not out of need, but as an act of being. From this sacred event, both Order (Ahura Mazda) and Chaos (Ahriman) emerge as dual seeds within the womb of Time. The article reconfigures ancient prayer, doubt, and the metaphysics of noon using Zarvanian philosophical language and geometrical constructs. Here, prayer becomes the primordial hammer that forges foundational wedges and semicubes from within the vibrating fields of time. 🟢 Introduction In the beginning of Time, no word was spoken— There was only prayer. Iranian myths carry within them ancient truths that transcend religion and ritual. Among these, the myth of “prayer without need” stands as one of the deepest: Zarvān—the god of Time—prays for a thousand years, not to a higher power, but to ignite creation itself. Is such a prayer a plea? A desire? Or is it a cosmic force that chisels the very geometry of being? This article, inspired by the teachings of Dr. Zhaleh Amoozegar and rooted in Zarvanian theory, seeks to explore that question anew. In the Zarvanian worldview, prayer is not merely a spiritual act—it is the primal mechanism of the temporal field, the first pulse that awakens the right angle, gives birth to irrational numbers, and shapes the foundational semi-cubes from the edge of Nonplace. Through the myths of Tishtrya and Rapithwin, we uncover prayer’s role in restoring equilibrium and subduing chaos within the fabric of spacetime. This is an attempt to rebind myth to geometry, prayer to time, and Iran to a new philosophical horizon—what we now call the Zarvanian Cosmology.
