The inventory is a composite work consisting of additions, modification and removal of elements from the stream layer of the BD TOPO IGN (C), up to about 20 % of the 2011 line. Following a tripartite agreement IGN, Chamber of Agriculture of Finistère, DDTM of Finistère, BD TOPO incorporated a large part of these elements. Then, the TOPO BD and the departmental inventory evolved slightly separately, due to the parties’ difference in point of view: IGN on the one hand, DDTM/CA29 on the other, on what a river is in the geographical sense (IGN point of view) and within the meaning of the Water Act (departmental inventory point of view), and on attributes.
Thus, the sum of the river lengths of the TOPO BD is 9 869 km, compared with 9455 in the inventory, the differences being mainly due to these differences in definition: fictitious extension in estuaries and water bodies, nozzle or nozzle streams, groundwater or surface streams, etc.

Since the hydro theme of the TOPO BD is now open-data, the departmental inventory, which differs to less than 1 %, can now also be offered on GeoBretagne, which was not possible previously for licensing problems.

本数据集包含29542条多段线（Polyline），对应截至2020年12月的菲尼斯泰尔省（Finistère）河道部门清单，该清单为2011年7月18日第2011-1057号省长令的更新附件。

本清单为综合成果，整合了法国国家地理研究院（IGN）BD TOPO（C）水系图层的新增、修改与删除要素，覆盖2011年版图层约20%的内容。根据IGN、菲尼斯泰尔省农业商会、菲尼斯泰尔省领土与海洋事务局（DDTM）三方达成的协议，BD TOPO已纳入上述大部分要素。此后，由于双方对地理意义上的河道定义、《水法》框架下的部门清单定义以及属性字段存在分歧，BD TOPO与部门清单各自进行了小幅迭代更新：一方为法国国家地理研究院（IGN），另一方为菲尼斯泰尔省领土与海洋事务局（DDTM）与菲尼斯泰尔省农业商会（CA29），分歧具体包括河口与水体的虚拟延伸、支流或分流河道、地下与地表河道等。

因此，BD TOPO水系图层的总河道长度为9869千米，而本部门清单的总河道长度为9455千米，二者差异主要源于上述定义分歧，具体包括河口与水体的虚拟延伸、支流或分流河道、地下与地表河道等。

由于BD TOPO的水文主题图层现已开放为开放数据，本部门清单与BD TOPO的差异小于1%，因此如今可在GeoBretagne平台上发布本数据集，此前因授权问题无法实现。
