Near infrared spectroscopic (NIRS) measurements of equine articular cartilage. NIRS measurements are paired with reference parameters calculated from biomechanical and histological measurements. These reference parameters reflect the biomechanical response, chemical composition and internal structure of the articular cartilage samples.<br><b>Change history: </b>Following publication, it was discovered that a number of samples in nirs_and_references.mat were mislabelled. This has been corrected in version 2.
