Cytauxzoon felis strain:Winnie Genome sequencing and assembly

Genome sequence of the causative agent of Cytauxzoonosis, C. felis. Whole blood (80 ml) was collected by sterile methods into citrate phosphate dextrose adenine (CPDA-1) anticoagulant immediately post-mortem from a domestic cat that died of acute C. felis infection. Acute infection was confirmed by microscopic observation of numerous C. felis schizonts in tissue imprints of liver, lung, and spleen.

猫胞浆虫病（Cytauxzoonosis）的病原体猫胞浆虫（C. felis）的基因组序列。研究人员采用无菌操作方法，从因急性C. felis感染死亡的家猫死后即刻采集80ml全血，将其置于枸橼酸磷酸盐葡萄糖腺嘌呤（CPDA-1）抗凝剂内。通过显微镜观察该猫肝脏、肺脏及脾脏的组织印片，可见大量C. felis裂殖体，由此确认该猫为急性感染。
