Seaborne metadata database

The SEABORNE (Sustainable UsE And Benefits fOR mariNE) has consolidated and synthesised existing information about who is using the Reef, how it is being used and what the benefits are from this use. SEABORNE began in November 2021, and initially, we were provided with a list of potential datasets relevant to our project in a spreadsheet. To this, we continued to search various data portals online and find additional datasets relevant to our project, particularly focusing on the Great Barrier Reef. We recorded these initially in an Excel spreadsheet. We then transferred this to an MS Access database and developed a more user-friendly entry form. Within the MS Access database, there is one table that stores all the metadata records entered. And another table that stores the static preview images. There are 58 fields (which have been described in a data dictionary) – some of these are mandatory. At the moment there are 3 metadata records entered and we expect this to grow to 50-100 records by the completion of the project.

SEABORNE（Sustainable UsE And Benefits fOR mariNE）项目整合并梳理了现有相关信息，涵盖珊瑚礁的使用主体、使用方式以及该使用行为所带来的效益。该项目于2021年11月启动，初始阶段我们收到了一份以电子表格形式整理的、与本项目相关的潜在数据集清单。在此基础上，我们继续检索各类在线数据门户，补充搜集与本项目相关的数据集，重点聚焦于大堡礁（Great Barrier Reef）。我们最初将这些数据集信息记录于Excel电子表格中，随后将数据迁移至Microsoft Access（MS Access）数据库，并开发了一款更便于用户使用的数据录入表单。在该数据库中设有两张数据表：一张用于存储所有已录入的元数据记录，另一张用于存储静态预览图片。该数据库共包含58个字段（已在数据字典中详细说明），其中部分字段为必填项。截至目前，已录入的元数据记录共3条，我们预计项目完成时，该记录数量将增长至50至100条。
