The Strait of Juan de Fuca and Northern Puget Sound regions have accommodated the transportation and refining of petroleum without serious problems from spilled oil. However, proposed activities related to the transport and use of petroleum in these regions increase the chances of significant additions of petroleum to this marine environment.
