Supplementary data and allignments (COI; 16S; 28S; concatenated) for for the work entitled: "A sea of worms: the striking cases of the European Perinereis cultrifera and P. rullieri (Annelida: Nereididae) species complexes, with description of 13 new species", published in Invertebrate SystematicsShort Summary:Annelids have been proving to be a substantial fraction of cryptic biodiversity, an issue that is revealing itself more widespread and frequent than previously thought.Perinereis cultrifera is commonly used as a model species, but the possibility of multiple unreported and undescribed cryptic species may compromise the accuracy and the interpretation of scientific data.Integrative taxonomy exposed overlooked morphological traits, with 18 different European Perinereis lineages uncovered, 13 formally described.The molecular data and respective taxonomic curation from this study can contribute for a wide range of analysis from metabarcoding, to complementing species identification, conservation efforts or even in large scale biomonitoring projects.
