Dual X-ray Absorptiometry of Btg2 knockout mice during starvation

Btg2 wild type (Btg2-WT) and Btg2 knockout (Btg2-KO) mice of male and of female were fasted for 48 hours and then re-fed for 24 hours. On each time point, body weight of each mouse, lean body mass and fat mass were measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). We found Btg2-KO mice consume less fat mass during starvation in both sexes, and have lower bone mineral density in female.

选取雄性与雌性Btg2野生型（Btg2-WT）及Btg2基因敲除（Btg2-KO）小鼠，对其进行48小时禁食处理后恢复饲喂24小时。在各时间节点，采用双能X线吸收法（dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, DEXA）测定每只小鼠的体重、瘦体重与脂肪质量。本研究发现，两种性别的Btg2-KO小鼠在饥饿状态下的脂肪消耗量均更低，且雌性Btg2-KO小鼠的骨矿物密度更低。
