Letter from Osborne Pigrome to his elder brother Ted (1)

Letter from Osborne Pigrome to his brother Edward Pigrome. One of 42 written to the addressee from 18th June 1915 to 8th December 1918. Osborne served in France from 1917 until the end of 1918. Before and after the war, he was a regular weekend watercolour painter. According to family stories, Osborne never spoke about the Great War. He never married and lived quietly with two elder sisters and a niece. Born 4th February 1880, died 26th April 1963.

奥斯本·皮格罗姆致其兄弟爱德华·皮格罗姆的书信。此书信为奥斯本于1915年6月18日至1918年12月8日期间寄给收信人的42封书信中的一封。奥斯本于1917年至1918年年底在法国服役。战争前后，他均以周末为固定创作时间，坚持水彩绘画创作。据家族口述史料，奥斯本从未提及过第一次世界大战（Great War）。他终身未娶，与两位姐姐及一位侄女过着平静的生活。其生于1880年2月4日，卒于1963年4月26日。
