this study examines the correlation between changes in the intensity of environmental civil justice and a comprehensive index of environmental pollution across 31 provinces and municipalities in China, both before and after 2015. The results reveal a significant reduction in the composite index of environmental pollution in these regions, coinciding with increased judicial intensity in environmental civil disputes. This finding underscores the causal relationship between strengthened environmental civil liability, the development of litigation mechanisms for environmental disputes, and the advancement of ecological governance in China.

本研究考察了2015年前后中国31个省、直辖市范围内，环境民事司法（environmental civil justice）强度变化与环境污染综合指数之间的相关性。研究结果显示，伴随环境民事纠纷司法强度的提升，上述地区的环境污染综合指数显著降低。该发现凸显了强化环境民事责任、完善环境纠纷诉讼机制与中国生态治理推进之间的因果关系。
