由于单个数据文件数据量比较大,压缩前总数据量为7.74GB(两个数据文件数据量分别为3.95GB和 3.79GB)。 用户下载数据并解压缩时,需要把每一个数据文件组分卷压缩数据文件全部下载下来,并存放在同一个文件夹下,右键点击第一个数据文件(例如:CloudObservedFromTheAircraft.part01.rar或RadarOnBoard.part01.rar),进行解压即可。

Blizzards are a type of natural disaster in Japan. Large-scale cloud seeding using dry ice or liquid carbon dioxide is an effective method to mitigate disasters caused by heavy snowfall. To experimentally explore approaches for artificial weather intervention via cloud seeding to reduce disaster losses, this dataset contains experimental data collected on January 14, 2014, over the main island of Honshu, Japan, under dense cloud conditions when liquid carbon dioxide was dispersed via aircraft. Two radar cameras were employed in this experiment. Precipitation data acquired by the radars were processed using the Japan Meteorological Agency’s Radar-AMeDAS system. Atmospheric temperature and pressure data were measured by the aircraft’s pitot tube (flow meter). Vertical variations in atmospheric temperature were recorded manually. The seeding rate of liquid carbon dioxide and the aircraft’s wind speed were 35 g s⁻¹ and 115 m s⁻¹, respectively. The seeding path was aligned with the wind direction to eliminate interference from other factors during the experiment. The experimental setup featured a 3-kilometer-thick cloud layer located 0.6 kilometers above the ground. The two datasets collected by the radars correspond to, respectively, the precipitation data monitored from the cloud top to the bottom within 20 minutes after liquid carbon dioxide seeding, and the total precipitation monitored over a 24-minute period. This set of experimental data and the corresponding experimental methodology confirm that the approach of using liquid carbon dioxide to modify weather is feasible under the aforementioned conditions. The data are stored in .mpg format and consist of two primary data files. Given the large size of individual files, the total uncompressed data volume is 7.74 GB (the two files are 3.95 GB and 3.79 GB, respectively). To facilitate user downloads, the data were compressed into multi-part archives using WinRAR. The two primary data files were packaged into two archive groups, each containing 12 split compressed files. The first archive group is named *CloudObservedFromTheAircraft*, with split files ranging from part01 to part12. The second archive group is named *RadarOnBoard*, with split files ranging from part01 to part12. When downloading and decompressing the data, users must download all split archive files of each archive group and store them in the same folder. Right-click the first archive file (e.g., CloudObservedFromTheAircraft.part01.rar or RadarOnBoard.part01.rar) to initiate decompression. The associated analytical paper was published in *Journal of Meteorological Research*, Volume 29, Issue 4, 2015.
