Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis, an endemic disease in Sudan, were isolated from sputum samples collected from pulmonary TB patients with positive TB smears at the National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory (NTBRL) in Khartoum, Sudan, in 2018. The genomes of three strains were isolated and sequenced, identifying both multi-drug resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) strains.
