DNA-SIP metagenomics of anaerobic butyrate degrading microbial communities

DNA-SIP was conducted with 13-C labelled butyrate in methanogenic anaerobic microcosms. The biomass was collected from two bioreactors, and SIP incubations were conducted in duplicate microcosms. The purpose of this study was to obtain high-quality genomes from SIP metagenomes to identify active anaerobic butyrate degrading microbes.
