Paired mid-sagittal T2-HASTE fetal MRI for uterine isthmus analysis: images and participant characteristics (prospective cohort)

This repository contains de-identified research data from a single-center prospective cohort of pregnant women undergoing clinically indicated fetal MRI in the 2nd/3rd trimester. The dataset was created to study transient uterine isthmic (“lower uterine segment”) contractions and their short-term effects on cervicoisthmic geometry and uterine wall thickness. Contents MRI images (NIfTI, .nii.gz): paired mid-sagittal T2-weighted HASTE acquisitions per participant (Sequence 1 and Sequence 2) obtained during the same examination, with a short interval between acquisitions (typically ~25 minutes) after bladder voiding. Tabular data (CSV): de-identified participant characteristics. Example videos (MP4): two side-by-side videos (two representative participants) illustrating the appearance of an isthmic contraction across the paired sequences. Image acquisition (summary)T2-weighted HASTE sequences were acquired without contrast on a clinical 1.5T system. Typical parameters included 3-mm slice thickness, TR ~1000–1200 ms, TE ~78–136 ms, and acquisition matrices adapted to gestational age and maternal size. CSV structureThe CSV is an export in “long” format: each participant (record_id) appears on multiple rows (one row containing maternal/demographic variables and one row containing MRI variables). CSV variables (data dictionary) record_id: study-specific participant code. maternal_age: maternal age (years). height: maternal height (m). initial_weight: maternal weight at pregnancy onset (kg). smoking: 0 = no, 1 = yes. type_of_conception: 1 = spontaneous, 2 = artificial/assisted. type_of_gestation: 1 = singleton, 2 = BCBA, 3 = MCBA amniotic_fluid: 1 = normal, 2 = polyhydramnios, 3 = oligohydramnios. gravida: total number of pregnancies (gravidity). parity_over23wk: parity (births >23 weeks). miscarriages_abortion: number of miscarriages. number_of_abortions_provoc: number of induced abortions. previous_pretermbirth: number of previous preterm births. number_of_still_births: number of stillbirths. numer_of_ectop: number of ectopic pregnancies. number_cesarean: number of previous cesarean sections. ga_mr: gestational age at MRI (weeks). initial_evaluation: time of initial evaluation / first T2-HASTE sequence (HH:MM:SS). final_evaluation: time of final evaluation / second T2-HASTE sequence (HH:MM:SS). time_interval: time interval between the two sequences (minutes). patient_positionmri: 1 = left lateral position, 2 = supine position. placental_position: 1 = Anterior superior, 2 = Anterior inferior, 3 = Posterior superior, 4 = Posterior inferior, 5 = Fundal. fetal_position_during_mri: 1 = cephalic, 2 = podalic, 3 = transverse.
