REST-ASMR (Response to Environmental & Sensory Triggers)
The REST-ASMR Dataset is a multimodal benchmark resource jointly created by the National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur and Chukyo University, which aims to systematically capture physiological and behavioral responses triggered by Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) and natural environmental stimuli. This dataset contains high-resolution photoplethysmography (PPG) signals from 34 participants, time-aligned audio-visual stimulus materials, and continuous subjective annotations, forming dense time-series matrices sampled at 10 Hz, with a total of synchronized multi-dimensional recordings covering 8 sixty-second video clips. The data were collected through a strict counterbalanced experimental design, and underwent preprocessing workflows including delay correction, upsampling, and signal normalization to ensure cross-modal temporal synchronization and analytical reliability. This resource is primarily applied in affective computing, multimodal fusion modeling and personalized digital therapy development, and aims to elucidate the unique cardiovascular deceleration mechanism of ASMR and distinguish its neurophysiological differences from relaxation induced by natural environments.
