VPRS 16844 Almoner/Medical Social Work Patient History Files, [SAMPLE ONLY]

This series was created by the Almoner. The Almoner's were subsequently named Medical Social Workers in 1962.This series comprises patient history files arranged by file number which are top-numbered annually at the first visit of the patient for that year. ie the file number reflects the date of the last visit of the patient. All relevant papers are attached to the cover sheet of each file.Some earlier files which pre-date the main filing system described above have been retained as an example (the only files extant).Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 2000/008.
